Therapy is essential in our daily lives. I make it my utmost priority to ensure a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment for clients to explore insight and self-awareness. With over 18 years of experience, I recognized the importance of emotional safety in the therapeutic room, while using a strength based approach to help my clients feel empowered. As a trauma informed, cognitive behavioral therapist I will help you uncover any unresolved stressors ranging from childhood traumas and current stressors that are weighing you down. I utilize mindfulness and breathing exercises to assist in building self-compassion.
I specialize in working with children, adults, and couples struggling with anxiety, depressive symptoms, anger management, relationship difficulties, divorce conflicts, sexual abuse and other trauma related issues. In addition, I work with individuals on self-esteem and self-empowerment. Making yourself a priority will promote positive changes in your relationships with others and within yourself. Together we will work toward creating long lasting changes utilizing therapeutic tools that will improve and highlight the strengths you already possess. I am here for you and I look forward to speaking with you.

Regardless of age, race, gender or class, we all want the same thing: to feel like we have the tools and strength to cope with the stresses & traumas of life. The clients I have had the privilege of working with over the years come from a wide variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, but they all share a desire to gain a deeper understanding of how their past affects their present and their future. My clients come to treatment with the goal of reducing the power their symptoms have over them, and to learn coping skills that can help increase their feelings of stability and inner calm.
I use CBT and Narrative therapy as the foundation for much of my work. By guiding them in building their self confidence and challenging their negative beliefs, my clients have been able to tackle social anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship challenges, work and academic stressors, and more.

Hi, I’m Sophia, and my goal is to help you build a strong, healthy, and mindful relationship with yourself and explore how that self integrates with the world and others. During my graduate studies, I completed an art therapy master’s research thesis on Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) in women which was inspired by my own lived experience with having and navigating ADHD. When it comes to this neurodivergent condition, it feels as though there are five steps to complete before showing up to the start line everyone else begins at automatically. Underneath the outward mask can be feelings of isolation, being misunderstood, experiences of rejection, depression, anxiety, and a constant state of burn out always on the horizon.
As a therapist for ADHD, the neurodivergent lens is applied from start to finish. My sessions for both individuals and couples include psychoeducation, roleplay, career counseling, art making/ journaling prompts, somatic work, and additional resources to help shape a life that works with the ADHD brain rather than against it.
My background consists of trauma informed yoga, philosophy, and meditation. I have worked with veterans returning from deployment that were struggling with stepping out of ‘fight-or-flight’ and trying to rediscover their goals and purpose after retirement. This is what opened the door to becoming a therapist and incorporating a person center, strength based practice for finding that deeper meaning to your life and setting attainable goals that can allow you to feel fulfilled in your days.
Along with race and culture, I welcome all religious & spiritual beliefs, sexual orientations, gender identities, and spiritual/religious beliefs into the therapeutic space. I believe to be fully present, this includes acknowledging the very real systemic hardships that can add to the struggle of being human. I prioritize making your session a space where you feel safe to fully arrive, take deeper breaths, and meet yourself with compassion.
